Jeff Gruen, M.D.

Founder and CEO, Raziel Health

Dr. Gruen is founder and CEO of Raziel Health. He has been a leader in four digital health/care delivery model innovation companies, including Revolution Health Group, where he served as President of the Care Division. He also has extensive experience in managing risk at the interface between payors and providers and served as a Chief Medical Officer at United Health Group. He has been forming and operating ACO and risk organizations for 27 years and co-founded an ACO management company, later sold to a Goldman Sachs roll-up. Dr. Gruen has also been integral to the transformation of care management operations, best-practice benchmarking and next-generation transformation at six major payors, representing almost 100 million total lives. One of Dr. Gruen’s companies was sold to PwC and Dr. Gruen stayed on as a Senior Partner helping to run the Payor and Provider practices. Dr. Gruen is board certified in Pediatrics from Yale and was a practicing Emergency Room physician. He was previously a Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He lives in New York with his wife and six children.

Deepak Damodaran

EVP - Product and Strategic Projects

Deepak is part of Raziel’s executive leadership team and drives product direction and strategic efforts across the organization. Deepak is a senior healthcare executive with a passion for innovation and bringing new products/ solutions to market. He has deep expertise in developing and driving strategies related to value-based care, clinical transformation and innovative care models. Prior to Raziel, Deepak led the innovation strategy practice at Navigant Consulting. He previously worked for Huron and PwC in advancing strategic planning and innovation efforts. Before PwC, Deepak co-founded finEye Corporation, an innovative early-stage company that developed an artificial intelligence based financial research product. As Vice President of Products, Deepak defined the product strategy and led the marketing effort, and played an instrumental role in raising first round of venture financing. Deepak earned his master of business administration (MBA) from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. He also holds a bachelor of technology degree in computer engineering from Mangalore University.

Jason Goldberg

VP - Business Development

Jason is a forward-thinking entrepreneur and proven leader with over 25 years of experience in the technology and healthcare industries. In 2002, he founded Ideal Life, leading the global revolution in healthcare by defining the digital health space for almost 20 years.

After the acquisition of Ideal Life by Raziel, Jason joined Raziel’s leadership team and focuses on market and business development across North America.

Jason earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Julie A. Vandre

Sr. Director - Clinical Operations

Julie Vandre is a healthcare executive with a dynamic background in successfully managing multi-state post-acute operations including home health, hospice, personal care and ambulatory care. Julie oversees growth strategy and clinical operations to implement Raziel’s innovative model across the country.

Before joining Raziel Health, Julie served as senior director at Unity BPO, where she developed business strategy and services and led the division to increase business revenue through sales and account management. She also previously served as senior director of clinical technology at Amedysis and as vice president of quality at Harden Healthcare.

Julie is a registered nurse who received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin and her M.B.A in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University. She is a board certified nurse executive.

Jack Vidal

Sr. Director - Operations

Jack Vidal is Sr. Director of Operations for Raziel Health.  Prior to Raziel Health, Jack was director of finance for Ideal Life, one of North America’s fasting-growing remote patient monitoring companies. Jack joined Ideal Life’s finance department in 2010 and managed the company’s operations and HR functions.  Working alongside Ideal Life’s CEO, Jack was instrumental in developing and implementing the company’s growth strategy through the remote monitoring industry’s formative years.

Jack has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Toronto and earned an M.B.A. from York University’s Schulich School of Business. Jack is involved with several charitable organizations and serves on the board of the Forest Hill Jewish Centre.

Ran Perry

Sr. Director - Engineering

Ran Perry has over 20 years of experience in technology services and applications. From his service in specialized units in the Israeli Defense Forces to providing due diligence IT services for international technology companies, Ran has a gift for transforming complex technologies into secure, user-friendly applications. 

Before Ideal Life’s acquisition by Raziel Health, Ran spearheaded the company’s strategic technology plans and oversaw all Internet-related products and services. Currently, he serves as Sr. Director of Engineering for Raziel Health, where he leads the continued development of an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout the organization.

Debbie Heesch

Sr. Director - Business Development

Over the course of her career, Debbie Heesch has worked in the start-up and development of several different companies, departments and programs. Her business development experience includes the start-up of credit repayment programs, college student portfolio lending and one of the first on-line funds transfer credit products. Debbie has been recognized for her success in partner relations, innovation and leadership. As a partner liaison she has been commended for her skill coordinating the work of multiple service lines to exceed goals, objectives and service commitments.

Ten years ago, Debbie decided to focus her career solely on healthcare, wanting to make a difference in reshaping the industry to fit the needs of patients. She joined a nonprofit healthcare team for a $8.5 million grant-based research project with a focus on solutions for seniors wanting to remain independent. Using her business development skills in the new, fast paced industry of remote health management has led to a commitment to making a difference in the way people receive care and their ability to stay in their homes longer, decreasing healthcare costs and improving outcomes.

John Chan

Sr. Director - Hardware Sourcing

John Chan has 40 years of experience as an electronic engineer. Before joining Ideal Life, he was specifically well known for his expertise in the consumer and toy industry. In his position with Ideal Life, and now Raziel Health, he is heavily involved with overseeing product design and factory production.

John graduated from school of electrical engineering of The City College of New York, CUNY and received BSEE and MESS degrees.

Debbie Weems

Board Advisor

A passionate advocate for affordable and accessible health care, Debbie is an experienced investor, advisor and executive with a diverse background in health care systems management, government, managed care and startups.

In addition to serving as an advisor at Raziel Health, she consults with other cutting-edge health care companies working to improve health care quality in meaningful ways. She previously served as COO at Embold Health, as Deputy Inspector General for Medical Services at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and as COO at Futura Health Partners.

Debbie received her bachelor’s degree in political science and her master’s degree in conflict resolution and mediation from Abilene Christian University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
